Math 121

MA 121 PROBLEM SET

COURSE INFORMATION:

Calculus and Its Applications — 3 hrs

Prerequisite: Either UA Mathematics Placement Exam score of 440-600, or transfer credit equivalent to Math 112, or a grade of "C -" or higher in Math 112 or equivalent course.

Description: Differentiation and integration of algebraic, exponential, and logarithmic functions, and applications in business and economics, functions of several variables, Lagrange multipliers, L'Hopital's Rule, multiple integration.

Format: Math 121 is offered as a standard lecture course or a computer-assisted course, which means students will use the computer (along with the instructor) to complete the course.

Who should take this course? This brief overview of calculus is primarily for students in the Culverhouse College of Commerce and Business Administration. This course is not satisfactory preparation for curricula requiring standard calculus or higher mathematics, and it is not a prerequisite to calculus or higher mathematics.
